Permanent - Glasgow/Remote
Chunk is looking for an experienced front-end web developer to join our team, helping deliver web and PWA projects for our brilliant clients
Role and Responsibilities
Your role is to develop, test and deploy front-end aspects of projects, including websites, cross-platform HTML5 mobile apps and progressive web applications.
You'll work with both creative and technical direction to help shape project strategy and development approach
You'll always work as part of a blended team, collaborating with producers, project managers, designers, ux designers, full-stack developers, back-end developers and other front-end developers.
You'll be very hands-on in projects and able to speak authoritatively about decisions made and approaches taken at both a strategic and code level
You'll be expected to help drive innovation in our development approaches
What we're looking for…
You should have demonstrable experience in building highly scalable, robust and resilient web applications, with a particular focus on the front-end
You should be well versed in HTML5+, TypeScript (or ES6+) and CSS3+, and be comfortable setting up projects with tools such as Webpack, Babel and SASS
You should be experienced in working with one of Angular, Vue and React, and have a level of awareness of the others.
You should have a keen eye for detail, and be comfortable working from assets as Sketch, Figma or XD to create responsible web builds which reflect the original design and vision.
You should have familiarity with integrating content management systems, including Wordpress and Umbraco
You should be passionate about writing clean, readable code that your teammates can easily understand, and should feel that using automatic linting and formatting tools is essential.
You're familiar with solid version control principles such as GitFlow and see branching, forking and pull requests as essential parts of your coding practices
It's important that you're approachable, amiable and willing to muck in with your teammates to deliver projects to the best of your collective abilities.
You're keen to come join an award winning agency working for some of the most well-known companies and brands
Bonus skills!
These are things that we'd love you to come with experience of, but don't be put off if you don't - it's more about having the potential and drive to build these skills, and you'll be supported in adding them to your skillset.
Experience of developing cross-platform HTML5 applications and PWAs using frameworks such as Ionic, Capacitor and Cordova
Experience of integrating third-party and first-party APIs and SDKs.
Experience of solid Continuous Integration and Deployment principles, and configuration of tools such as Jenkins, Travis or Circle
Experience of working with Amazon Web Services. It would be great if you were familiar with not just the services on offer, but on working with services such as CloudFormation and Terraform
Experience of deploying, hosting, monitoring and scaling web solutions in cloud based services such as AWS and Azure
If this is the role for you we’d love to hear from you. Please apply by email, including your CV
